I was asked recently to create a Flemish bond hatch pattern. My immediate response was that if you search the internet you will find one that already exists and I did. See Fig 1: - Fig 1 I was then told that they wanted specific brick sizes, so I replied that you can just edit the file to represent. I want to put my downloaded pattern file into the patterns folder instead of on the desktop. where is it on my drive? I just can't find the pattern folder. I have revit 2011

By default are all in one file, 'Revit.pat', search for that file.. but you can create a pattern folder (wherever you want) where you can place the whole pattern files you have..

Your fill pattern code needs to be cut and pasted / incorporated into the *.pat file located in the c:program files folder.

I ended up making a folder of my own. seems to work fine. I didnt know about the songle complete pattern file. seems dicey.

Just so everyone knows, the location of this file has changed with almost every version of Revit. Attached image shows some of the locations.

  1. How to Export and Import custom hatch pattern in AutoCAD View Larger Image; Generally you can export a drawing with its fonts, texture, materials, references, data links etc using e-transmit but unfortunately, it can’t export custom hatch pattern file (PAT) with the package and you have to add it in the package separately. 2018 at 10:28.
  2. To use this hatch pattern in the drawing you need to copy the PAT file in the support folder. To find the location of support folder type OP and press enter. Then select the file tab and expand the “Support File Search Patch” tree and there you will see the location of the support folder.

How To Import Hatch Patterns Into Autocad

Here’s a quick tip on how to locate your AutoCAD Hatch Patterns.

Cad Hatch Patterns

Your hatch standard pattern definitions are located within your acad.pat file. This file is usually located in program files under your program filesautocad-versionsupport folder.

If using AutoCAD LT you may find your Hatch Patterns are located in the UserDataCache folder. This is a hidden folder and cannot be seen without changing your settings.

To see your hidden folders and locate hatch patterns be sure to :

Autocad Pat File Path

Open The Tools in Windows Explorer

1. Open Explorer window. (Rt Click Start Button – Lower Left and Choose Open Explorer)
2. Click on the Tools (ALT and ALT+T) Menu bar item. (See screenshot below)
3. Click on Folder Options.
4. Select Show Hidden Files And Folders And Drives
