Watering Manually. Press the Manual On/Off button to water manually. Press the button again to stop watering; otherwise the timer will water for 30 minutes and automatically shut off. A fresh battery should last one watering season. When the battery is weak, the low battery indicator bar will show. Manual Watering. There are 2 ways to water manually with this water timer. The second way is to open the valve with the electronic control unit. Using the UP and DOWN arrows, move to 'MANUAL.' Manual watering can be up to 240 minutes. The delay is in effect for all zones.

- I have a Melnor 3015 aqua timer (2007 model) that leaks. I am fairly certain it is the connection between the solenoid and the valve but I cannot figure out how to open the thing without breaking the. Melnor 3015 6 Zone AquaTimer.
The timer is now programmed. “ON” will flash for 5 seconds
and then stop. The timer screen will go blank after 5 minutes to
conserve power. The time and program status, “ON” or “OFF,” will
remain visible. Pressing any button will “wake” the timer.

Move back to ZONE and select the unprogrammed zone. Repeat
the programming steps to set-up the second watering zone.
Changing the Program
To make a change to the program, simply wake the timer by
pressing any button. Move to the sections you wish to change and
adjust as needed. Watering will resume at the “START WATER” time.
Manual Watering
Using the UP and DOWN arrows, move to “MANUAL.” Using the
PLUS button, adjust the time you wish to water. The timer will wait
5 seconds and begin to water. Manual watering can be up to 240
minutes.
Rain Delay
In the event of predicted rainfall, you can temporarily suspend
automatic watering for up to 3 days. Simply move to “RAIN DELAY”
and use the PLUS button to select the desired delay. After the
delay period has passed the timer will return to the programmed
operation.
Automatic Rain Delay
This timer will work with AquaSentry, Melnor’s exclusive Automatic
Rain Delay. AquaSentry actually monitors the moisture in the soil
and delays watering if it is not needed. For more information, visit:

Disabling the Program
If you would like to suspend automatic watering for an extended
period, simply change the “PROGRAM” line to “OFF.” When you are
ready to resume watering, switch “PROGRAM” to “ON.” Watering
will begin at the “START WATER” time. Each “ZONE” is disabled or
enabled independently.
Program Memory
This timer has memory. If the battery fails or is removed, even for
extended periods, the program will be retained. After installing
a fresh battery you simply need to set the “TIME.” The timer will
retain the existing program.
Batteries
Install 2 AA Alkaline batteries by removing the battery holder
from the back of the timer and inserting the batteries as indicated.
Replace the battery holder.
Once installed, the LCD screen will be working with the letters
“OFF” flashing beside “MANUAL.”
Installing the Timer
Attach the timer directly to an outside faucet and turn on the
water.
Attach a hose to the timer outlet and then to a sprinkler, soaker
hose or other watering system.
Note: The timer can be programmed before installation.
Programming the Timer
Press the UP key until the numbers beside “TIME” are flashing.

Set the current time using the PLUS and MINUS keys. By holding
the key down the time will change rapidly. A tap will cause a
stepped change. Once you have set the correct time, use the
DOWN arrow key to move to the next section.
Use the PLUS and MINUS keys to select the “ZONE” you want
to program. Use the DOWN key to move to the next section.
Select when you want to begin watering in the “START WATER”
section. Again adjust the time using the PLUS and MINUS keys.
Move to the next section.
Set how long you wish the water to run in the “WATER FOR”
section. This time can be adjusted up to 240 minutes. Move to the
next section.
Select how often you would like to water in the “WATER EVERY”
section. This is set in hours or days. Move to the next section.
Activate the program by adjusting the “PROGRAM” section to
ON. Watering will begin at the “START WATER” time.

Congratulations! You are now the owner of a Melnor
AquaTimer Model 3015, one of the most versatile and
easiest to set water timers ever built.
Installing the Battery
Remove screws and lift off the battery cover. You may need
to use the screwdriver to gently pry off the battery cover.
Insert one 9V battery and replace battery cover and screws.
Make note of the positive and negative contacts.
Attaching the Timer to the Faucet
NOTE: Your AquaTimer can be programmed on or off the
faucet. It may be easier to program the timer first and then
attach it.
Simply attach the top coupling nut to the faucet by
twisting the nut clockwise. The nut should be snug. Do
not overtighten. Once the AquaTimer is attached, turn
on the faucet and leave it on while the timer is attached.
Remember to turn off the water when you need to remove
the AquaTimer.
Attach a garden hose to the outlet end of the timer and
then set up a sprinkler as you normally would.
Setting the timer
1. Use left arrow to decrease and right arrow to increase
numbers (t u) to set “Current Time” to nearest hour at that
time, noting AM and PM.
2. Repeat above instructions to set “Start Time” to
desired time of day to begin watering.

3. Use left and right (t u) arrow buttons to set “How
Often” (watering frequency) to select an hour or day
increment. (8 hours = 3 times per day, 2 days = every
other day)
4. Use left and right (t u) arrow buttons to set “How
Long” (watering duration) to select a minute or hour
increment.
5. Activate the watering program by pressing the Program
On/Off button; a horizontal bar will be displayed to signify
the program is on. Press the Program On/Off button again
to disable the program.
NOTE: To avoid accidentally changing the current program,
the arrow buttons will be “locked out” or inaccessible if
“Program On” is selected.
To create a new program, press Program On/Off button
if necessary to disable the current program. Press (t u)
arrow buttons to desired settings and press Program On/
Off button again to select the newly created program.
To avoid watering during the current program, press the
Program On/Off button to disable the program and press
again to enable the program when desired.
Watering Manually
Press the Manual On/Off button to water manually. Press
the button again to stop watering; otherwise the timer will
water for 30 minutes and automatically shut off.
Low Battery
A fresh battery should last one watering season. When the
battery is weak, the low battery indicator bar will show.
If this occurs during a watering program, the unit will
automatically shut off and discontinue running the program.
The valve will not reopen until a fresh battery is installed.
After inserting
a new battery, the timer must be re-programmed to resume
watering.
LCD Sleep Mode
To prolong battery life, the LCD will “sleep” after
approximately 4 minutes of button inactivity. “Wake” the
unit by pressing either the Program On/Off or the Manual
On/Off buttons.
